Our mixed chips of citrine, amethyst, and peridot beads display vibrant color and luster that will add distinction to any beading project. Yet Mama's Minerals keeps them so affordable!

Dimensions: While our citrine, amethyst, and peridot beads vary in size, they range from 2-5 millimeters (mm) wide, 3-15mm long and 3-7mm deep.

Quantity: 35-inch strand

Mineralogy:

  • Peridot is indeed dot-like in size, rarely occurring in grains larger than 6mm, but it packs an amazing degree of mineral drama into its granular structure. As the beautiful result of a naturally occurring combination of forsterite and fayalite, peridot is always in great demand for its deep emerald to olive green color.

  • Citrine is a type of quartz (silicon dioxide), the most abundant single mineral on earth. It makes up about twelve percent of the earth's crust and occurs in a wide variety of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. Quartz varieties are commonly separated into two groups based on the size of the crystals—macro-crystalline quartz, in which individual crystals are distinguishable with the naked eye, and crypto-crystalline quartz, in which crystals are too small to be distinguishable without aid of a special microscope. Together, these crystals produce citrine's beautiful "liquid sunshine" color.

  • Amethyst is best known for its vibrant to subtle purples, which are due to miniscule iron impurities occurring within the crystal structure of quartz. Found in the agate-lined cavities of siliceous volcanics, often in the form of geodes, amethyst also occurs in veins of quartz.

Metaphysical Properties: The popularity of peridot beads is no surprise, given that peridot is a Chakra stone, associated with the wellbeing of both the heart and the solar plexus. As the August birthstone, peridot is said to increase intuition, reduce stress, and stimulate personal growth.

Citrine is known as the "success stone," because it promotes success, prosperity, and abundance. Citrine is also said to increase the wearer's mental clarity, confidence, will power, creativity—and even honesty!

Believed by some to boost intuition, amethyst has long been associated with tranquility. Now just imagine the possibilities for your projects as you work with this vibrant combination of amethyst, citrine, and peridot beads!
