Mama Cares About UsLaura Randolph, owner and president of Mama's Minerals, Inc., believes in giving back to the universe through her actions. For example, she supports education by offering free rock, mineral, and fossil classes to area students and art through her participation in Artscrawl (a citywide self-guided gallery tour). She's also a firm believer in recycling.
Mama's Minerals collects donations for S.A.F.E. House during the holiday season. Since 1976, S.A.F.E. House has provided temporary shelter, services, and education for women and their children who are in a state of crisis as a result of physical, sexual, emotional, or economic abuse in order to help them rebuild their lives. You can help, too, by dropping off donations throughout the year (from January through November) at Second Chances, a thrift store across the street from Mama's Minerals Albuquerque store. Second Chances is located at 1301 San Mateo NE; call 505-265-9233 for more information.
