We typically ship merchandise within 1 to 2 business days of receiving your order (rough rock may take longer if cuts are required). An order can be delayed if you supply us with an incorrect address or credit card number, or an item is out of stock. In most cases, if a product appears on the web site you can assume that it is still available. If you need to receive your order within a short time frame, be sure to select UPS 3-Day Select, 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air as your shipping option.
Payment Methods
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. You can also make a purchase using a check or money order. For international orders you may pay with a credit card or an International Postal Money Order. All international orders will be shipped fully insured with the full value declared on the package. If you pay by check, money order or International Postal Money Order, you will have to mail in your order (see instructions below). Because our stock is limited and many items are unique, check orders will be held for two weeks; if we have not received your payment in that period, your order will be cancelled. For security reasons, we do not ship or mail out credit card receipts.
C.O.D. Orders
We offer shipping via C.O.D. through UPS on all orders under $200. Be aware that a fee for C.O.D. delivery will be added to other shipping charges and that UPS will only accept a money order or cashier's check for the delivery. Call us toll-free at 1-877-WE ROCK U to place a C.O.D. order.
Order Online
Ordering online is the easiest and fastest method. Add items to the shopping basket; click the CHECKOUT icon located at the bottom left of the screen; and follow the online instructions. Make special requests (e.g., special delivery instructions, shapes, colors, etc.) in the "Special Instructions" box on the order form. If you're sending a gift to someone, we'll be happy to include a gift enclosure card with whatever sentiments you wish to convey -- just fill in the "Gift Sentiment" box on the order form. With a gift, you'll be sent the invoice and only the gift and gift enclosure card will go to the recipient.
If you're having trouble placing an order online, you may have your cookies turned off. Cookies are small text files created by a website and placed on your computer to remember information within a visit or between visits. Our shopping cart can't remember what you've chosen without cookies. To check your cookie settings:
For Internet Explorer users:
On your top menu bar, go to "Tools," then "Internet Options." Select the tab marked "Privacy," and make sure your setting is not set to "Block All Cookies."
For Netscape users:
On your top menu bar, go to "Edit," then "Preferences." Click the triangle next to "Privacy & Security," then click "Cookies." Make sure that "Disable cookies" is not selected.
Turn your cookies on to place your order -- you can turn them back off afterward, if you like. Or, call us and place your order by phone (see below).
Order by Phone
Feel free to call us toll-free at 1-877-WE ROCK U to place an order by phone. Our Mail Order Department is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 AM to 6 PM Mountain Time. One of our rock, mineral, fossil, and equipment specialists will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our products.
Order by Mail (Check, Money Order) When paying by check just select the pay-by-check option when you check out, then continue with the ordering process. Print out two copies of the final invoice: keep one copy for your records and mail the other one to us, along with your check, to the address below.

Order by Fax
If you wish to place an order by fax, check off the pay-by-check option on the order form, then continue with the ordering process. Print out two copies of your order after it's completed.
If you're sending us a check, just fax one copy of the order form to us at 1-505-266-2518 and keep the other one for your records. You may fax us at any time; the fax machine is on 24/7. We'll process your faxed order when we receive your check in the mail.
If you're paying by credit card, you'll need to add your credit card information to the bottom of the order form printout you intend to fax to us: write in your name as it appears on the credit card, the 15- or 16-digit credit card number, and the expiration date, as well as your signature. You'll also need to supply us with the last three digits of the long number that's printed in the signature line on the back of your card (Visa, MC, Discover), or the 4-digit number that appears in the upper left section on the front of your card (American Express). (Such numbers are security codes issued by your credit card company to minimize the risk of fraud.) Fax us the copy that contains the credit card information and keep the other one for your records. Order by Email
Please include a list of the items you'd like to order, with your name, shipping address, phone number, email, and shipping preference. Please don't send your credit card number in an email. Let us know the best time to reach you, and we will call you for your credit card information.
Ordering Rough Rock
Because of the nature of ordering cutting and carving rock over the Internet, we may not be able to send you exactly the weight you want in a particular stone. We will do our very best to accommodate you and strongly encourage you to be as detailed in your ordering as you can.
Prices are per pound (in most cases); but because of the variability in weight, we can promise only to get within a few pounds, plus or minus, of each piece you order. We may not always be able to match the number of pounds to the number of pieces you receive, depending on what we have in stock. For example, if you order 3 pounds of two different types of rock, we may send you one large piece of one, and many small pieces of the other.
Often, our pieces of rough rock have been cut to more closely match the sizes our customers request. That means that you may receive a piece that has been cut on one or more sides, and may not look like a natural specimen. If you have a specific size, shape, or weight request or requirement, please note it in the Special Instructions field at check out, and we'll do our best to meet your needs.

Volume & Business Discounts
We are happy to offer a wholesale discount (typically 30% or more, depending on the item and size of the order) to businesses. However, we cannot offer wholesale prices on equipment and books. Discount for Teachers

As an educator, you qualify for a 20% off on your purchase of selected items -- those that link to this page from "See our Discount for Teachers." To get the discount price, just answer "Yes" to "Are you a teacher?" on the item page, and have your order shipped to your school. Be sure to include the school's office phone number with the shipping address, in case we need to verify your teaching status. If we receive your order with a teacher discount requested, but no school information, we will email you. If we don't receive the contact information for your school or organization in a timely manner, we will remove the discount from your order. This usually comes up in the summertime, when school is out -- please be sure to include your school name, address, and phone number in the Special Instructions field if you cannot have your order shipped directly.
Shopping in Our Stores
The prices & offers (especially Buy One Get One FREE and Clearance) on our website may not be available in our stores. If you see a terrific deal or something you must have, order it online and choose Will Call as your shipping option -- then pick it up the next time you visit! Will Call is available for Earthprints (in Santa Fe), too -- just note that you would like to pick up in Santa Fe in the Special Instructions when you check out. We will contact you to let you know when your order will be available (there may be up to a 2 week wait).
