Silicon carbide is the abrasive of choice for tumbling because it has a Moh’s hardness of 8+, incredible longevity, and is quite effective. This 46/70 Silicon Carbide Tumbling Grit has a very coarse grain and is typically used prior to Step 1 for stones that are extremely rough and pitted.
