While it's more correctly called Marlstone or Marlite, a
quick glance at its distinctive whorls explains the
better-known name of Burma Teak. The lined and knotty
wood-like designs were created when iron seeped into
natural fractures as this slightly magnesian calcareous
mudstone or muddy limestone formed more than 250 million
years ago. The warm earthtones will match nearly any
room. These bowls are available in three sizes for
either decorating or practical use.
Each large Burma Teak Bowl (shown on the right
in the above photo) is unique, and measures
approximately 5-7/8" diameter and 2" high.
