This fossilized Carcharodon megalodon (also
called Carcharocles megalodon, click here for info) Shark's Tooth
from New Caledonia (800 miles east of Australia in the South Pacific Ocean)
has a beige, cream, and brown crown with a glossy
finish. The partial root is taupe and the serrations
are completely worn. This specimen is completely
natural and has not been restored or altered. Its unusual
coloration and interesting
markings make it a unique display piece or teaching tool.
This
tooth is a remnant of a Carcharodon megalodon shark
(a distant relative of the Great White Shark) that existed
some 2 to 25 million years ago. It measures 3-3/8" from
the tip to the top left corner; 3-5/8" from the tip to
the top right corner; and 2-3/4" across the root. The dimensions are to the closest eighth
inch, measured on a straight line (i.e., not following
