Amethyst is, perhaps, the best loved of all the quartz
varieties. Its warm, purple glow is a favorite in home
decorating, and it is widely used as a Feng Shui element.
Amethyst's purple color is due to small amounts (about 40
parts per million) of iron impurities
in the crystal structure of quartz.
Amethyst has been found in siliceous volcanics,
occurring as macroscopic crystals and druzy coverings
inside of agate-lined cavities, often forming geodes.
Amethyst also occurs in quartz veins.
These small, high-quality Amethyst Clusters from Uruguay would make a great gift for
