A number of minerals contain trace elements that will
fluoresce when illuminated by ultraviolet light. Up to
90% of these minerals will reveal their vivid colors
under short-wave ultraviolet. This Short-Wave
Fluorescent Minerals Kit contains five minerals --
agrellite, chalcedony, selenite crystals,
tremolite/tirodite, and willemite/calcite. Each stone is
about 1" square (but sizes vary markedly here) and is
marked with the name and the location in which it was
found.
