Calcite -- a transparent to translucent mineral composed of calcium carbonate -- comprises 4% by weight of the earth’s crust, is widely distributed, and constitutes a significant part of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rock. Our Orange Calcite Tumbling Rock is medium-to-dark orange with variable patches of white and consists of three pounds of rough that’s sized and ready for your rock tumbler. It can be tumbled alone or in combination with rocks and minerals having a similar hardness (2.5-3). Each piece weighs approximately 30-40g, from a quarter to fifty-cent piece size.
