Our Moqui Marble Collection includes 3 marbles--2 small (1/2" to 3/4" in diameter) and 1 medium (1" to 1-1/4" in diameter)--packaged in a 4" x 6" Velveteen Pouch.
Moqui Marbles, also known as Shaman Stones or Thunderballs, are smooth, elliptical or round balls of compacted sandstone encased in a shell of hematite (an ore of iron). They are named after the Moqui Indians who inhabited the lands around the Navajo Sandstone Formation in Utah, where most Moqui Marbles are found.
The theory of how these spheres are formed is still under discussion--some geologists believe them to be concretions formed 25-130 million years ago from minerals precipitated out of large volumes of groundwater flowing through permeable sandstone.
Used for centuries by Shamans and other mystics, Moqui marbles are said to clear and align energy centers and meridians, relieve energy blockage, and stimulate Chi energy.
