This fossilized Cleoniceras Ammonite Pair displaying tones of orange, bronze, brown, red and yellow is polished on both the interior and exterior sides, allowing the details to stand out. This sliced pair shows spectacular patterns and even some crystal structures on the interior side of the shell.

Ammonites were first called Ammon’s Stones for their resemblance to the ram’s horns of Ammon, ancient Egyptian God of life and procreation. Quarried and carved in the Western Sahara region of southern Morocco.

Dimensions: Approx. 3.25” x 3.75” x 0.75" each

Fossil Information: Ammonites are extinct cephalopods that lived in the ocean that once covered the Sahara Desert about 400 million years ago (during the Devonian period). The modern-day squid, octopus and chambered nautilus are also cephalopods.

Please Note: This is not a one of a kind piece.  You will receive a specimen with similar quality and characteristics.
