Ammonite Fossils
Closely related to squid and cuttlefish, these mollusks went extinct along with the dinosaurs. The spiral shape of their fossilized shells inspired the name Ammonite, after the Egyptian god Ammon, who was depicted wearing Rams' horns.
Not only are they old and historically interesting, but some of them are dazzlingly beautiful, with the original shell preserved and still exhibiting iridescence. Talk about bang for your buck!
