Bismuth Crystal
This interesting piece looks like something out of a science fiction novel. Great iridescent colors and amazing structure. It almost looks like a building of sorts.
You will receive piece similar to the one pictured and about 1" x 2" x 1 1/2"
Fine dendritic hopper crystals with iridescent metallic colors caused by light scattering at a very thin layer of bismuth oxide. Grown in the lab from the melt of the byproduct of electronics manufacturing at 271 degrees centigrade or 520 degrees fahrenheit. Only the most pure are used for electronics. Bismuth is a metal and an element. It is a rather rare metal and only electronic grade can be used for crystal growth.
This would be a fun gift for kids or for adults who like to add unique things to their collections.
