We conduct public classes at our Albuquerque store, and periodically we offer classes at our Santa Fe store, too. Space is limited, so please be sure to sign up well in advance. Beading 101 – Bead it Yourself!!
Not your ordinary class!

This class will be comprehensive and for serious beginners. You will leave with a different understanding of the importance of beading throughout history and throughout the world. Only 12 people in the class, so don't miss out on getting a seat. Register today!

Class includes: History of beads, color theory, elements of design. You will receive a Bead Society tote bag with everything you need to get started making jewelry. The kit has a $50.00 value. We will break to go shopping in the store, to eat lunch and then the afternoon is filled with actually making your necklace, including crimping and adding a toggle clasp. You will wear your necklace home.

Stacked Right Angle Bracelet

This class will teach you how to make a double wrapped bracelet ussing a variation of right-amgle weave, You will have your choice of 2 or 3 colors of size 8/0 beads depending on your preference. The bracelet will have a small, very strong magnetic clasp. You should be able to finish the bracelet in the class or be well along so finishing it at home will be easy.

Peyote Stitch Bracelet

In this class you will learn to make a flat Peyote stitch Bracelet (even count). You will also learn how to attach a metal clasp of your choice to your complete bracelet. Beaded clasp will be discussed and demo as well. You may not complete your bracelet during class, but will leave with the skills to complete the bracelet on your own.

Riveting Pendant

In this class you will create a one of a kind copper pendant. The pendant will be made by cutting and layering various textured pieces of copper together. Several types of rivets (tubes, wire, standard) as well as tolls will be discussed and demonstrated during the class.

Sparkly Wheels

Beaded wheels are a fun beaded circle made up of 4mm round stones and size 11 seed beads. They are easy to make and have a "wow" factor that is sure to impress people. the seed beads can either be the same color as the 4mm beads or they can contrast for a bolder look. A wheel can easily be put onto a chain or cord to wear as a necklace. A few wheels can be sewn together to make a bracelet, or french wire can be added to two wheels to make a pair of earrings.

Beaders should bring: a beading mat, beading needles, favorite thread, and scissors

Herringbone Rope Bracelet

In this class you will learn how to create a 6 bead rope using a variety of bead sizes. You will also learn how to attach a metal clasp of your choice. Beaded clasps will also be demonstrated during the class. You may not finish your bracelet during the class, but will leave with the skills to complete your pieces at home.

In this class you create 3 wire wrapped rings. We will use 18 gauge copper wire. You will learn ring sizing, wire coiling, texture in wire and incorporating beads into your rings.

Wire Wrap Earrings

In this class you create 3 unique pairs of coppe earrings. You will use copper wire and sheet copper to create your earrings. You will learn how to texture the sheet metal and cut your earring shapes using templates. Then drill sheet metal, we will attach beads to some earrings and attach to ear wires.

Polymer Clay

In this class we will leaf a cane. You will learn cane reduction and skinner blend. We will use cane to cover larger clay beads. We will bake the finished pieces in class and you will leave with a variety of finished beads to create jewelry.
