This fossilized tooth from Morocco—about 70 to 135 million years old—is from the Mosasaur, a carnivorous reptilian predator that lived in large bodies of water during the late Cretaceous period.
Fossil remains suggest that it had a pointed snout, flippers, and a long tail and weighed up to 40,000 pounds. The Mosasaur's diet consisted of slow-moving sea creatures like ammonites and turtles, as well as swifter prey like sharks and plesiosaurs.
You will receive one tooth that will measure from 7/16 to 5/8" across, 7/8 to 1-3/8" high, and 5/16 to 1/2" deep, and will be similar in quality and appearance to the teeth shown in the above photo.
Makes a fascinating gift for kids!
