Mineralogy: Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral which may be pink or brown, though pink is the most desired. Rhodonite is found in metamorphic rocks. It is often confused with Rhodochrosite, but is much harder than rhodochrosite so a scratch tst can help distinguish between the two. Also, black veining is common in rhodonite, whereas white veining is common in rhodochrosite
