At approximately 100 million years old, an Agatized Gastropod Fossil is a great addition to fossil collections of every level.
This marine mollusk is related to the land snail and other marine mollusks such as the abalone. Gastropod comes from Latin words meaning “stomach foot.” They had one very large, prominent foot in relation to the rest of their body, underlying the stomach. They were likely omnivores, eating plant matter such as algae, as well as scavenging on dead animals.
As with all of Mother Nature's creations, appearance will vary, but the item you receive will be similar in quality to the photos above.
