Product description

Bead Size: 4mm

Strand Length: 16"

Mineralogy: Azurite is a dark blue secondary, copper carbonate mineral formed by the weathering of existing copper deposits. It may weather to a lighter, sky blue color. Specimens are often earthy in luster but high-quality crystals can be vitreous. Azurite is relatively unstable and will eventually be replaced by malachite when exposed to hydrogen and oxygen found in normal atmospheric conditions. However, this process is very slow and the average collector does not need to worry about special storage conditions for their azurite specimens.
