Mineralogy: Celestite (strontium sulfate) is often white or gray, but the rarer sky-blue variety is the most highly desired amongst mineral collectors. It is formed when nodules of gypsum or anhydrite (both calcium sulfate minerals) are exposed to strontium-rich solutions which dissolve the existing calcium and then precipitate strontium sulfate crystals.

It is an important stone for developing psychic gifts and clearing brain fog and blockages.
