Rose Quartz is a pink variety of quartz or silicon dioxide. Its pink hue can come either from fibrous inclusions of dumortierite or from irradiation of trace amounts of aluminum and phosphorous. Like clear and smoky quartz and amethyst, rose quartz is usually volcanically formed.
