Virgo

Virgo (August 23- September 22) is a mutable sign, representing the end of Summer and the beginning of fall. Mutable signs like Virgo crave the transitional and motivating energy of the season's change. Virgo is an Earth Sign, which is what causes the practical, grounded, forward-thinking they're known for. One of the most balancing acts for Earth signs like Virgo is dance, loosening up the sometimes rigid and controlled energies of Virgo.

Virgo's ruling planet is Mercury, which governs how we communicate and process information. You've probably heard of Mercury Retrograde, an astrological phenomenon that can totally mess with the way we communicate and perceive communication. Mercury Retrograde is when the planet Mercury orbits so fast in one direction it appears to be going the opposite direction, like when you watch the wheels on a car and they look like they could be going backward. 

Virgo is often regarded as a judgemental or overly critical sign, however often times that isn't the case. Virgos have high expectations of people and are prone to feelings of sadness or anger when people don't meet those expectations. Virgo has mastered the art of "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed." they see the good in humanity and expect humans to be their best selves. Virgo is a practical and realistic sign, they tend to stick to facts and logic over faith and whimsy. That isn't to say Virgos aren't magical, they just prefer to see the magic in everyday life rather than look to the fantastic. 

Virgos are detail-oriented so much so that they often ignore the big picture and can get completely swallowed by intricacies. Virgos are excellent leaders, they are organized and pragmatic but still have an abundance of room to nurture and care. Virgos make excellent teachers, doctors, journalists, and writers due to their ruling by Mercury. Virgos give excellent advice and have a unique ability to sus out when and where it's most needed. Virgos are excellent at mediating conflict, as their Mercury ruling gives them a special ability to see both sides of every situation.
